At 1:53 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4 Iowa City Animal Control Services received notification of a pedestrian who was bitten by a dog. According to the information provided, at approximately 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 3, a male subject was on his bicycle when he was passing a woman walking two leashed dogs in the area of the 2000 block of Melrose Avenue. As the cyclist passed the woman walking the dogs, one of the dogs lunged at the cyclist and bit him on his left hamstring. The woman walking the dogs is described as being in her 40s, with short dark hair. The dogs were described as being a black Labrador and a chocolate Labrador.

Iowa City Animal Control Services is seeking information regarding the rabies vaccination of the two dogs.
