Working in isolation he women developed unique techniques and styles, comparable to the great artistic enclaves of the Italian Renaissance. In 1994, these quiltmakers were "discovered" by an art historian. Now their humble quilts, made to keep families in drafty log cabins warm, hang in museums and sell for thousands of dollars. This is their story.

Attendees are encouraged to bring books that helped deepen bonds with nature. The event is free and open to everyone; no registration is necessary. Most everyone has experienced a divine presence in nature. Participants will deepen these spiritual experiences through hands-on gardening and in-depth discussions in our shared outdoor cathedral. Together participants will explore many topics and questions… * How can natural settings increase the benefits of prayer, journeying, ritual, and meditation? * What are effective responses to the Pope's Eco-Encyclical, an urgent call for personal actions that mitigate climate change? * What is the human role in nature? * How can we collaborate with unseen beings to become a beneficial, healing element in ecosystem health? The gatherings are open to any spiritual practice, but an inquisitive mind and compassionate heart are required. Learn more about the locations and topics at the Backyard Abundance website: http://www.backyardabundance.org
