The Iowa City Police Department (ICPD) responded to the 1900 block of Broadway Street on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 8:42 p.m. to a report of a robbery that had just occurred where a weapon was displayed.
The victim reported he was approached by two male subjects outside of his residence. One of the subjects displayed what was later determined to be a BB/pellet gun. The victim reported that the suspects grabbed his cell phone and then fled the area on foot in an unknown direction. The suspects were described as two black males, both with slender builds, and both wearing hooded sweatshirts with the hoods pulled tightly, covering their faces.
This matter remains under investigation by the ICPD Investigations Division. The Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the suspects.
