The City of Iowa City Human Rights Commission will be holding a work session at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, in Emma J. Harvat Hall at City Hall, 410 E. Washington St., to solicit feedback from applicants and the public on the Social Justice and Racial Equity Grant (SJRE) process. The Iowa City Human Rights Commission will begin the work session with the opportunity for members of the public to discuss their thoughts, opinions, or suggestions on the SJRE Grant and its process. Commissioners will then have a discussion on how they envision the future of the SJRE Grant to look, taking into consideration the input received from the community. After the work session, the Commission will create a set of recommendations for the City Council, outlining the grant and process for fiscal year 2020.
