Iowa City Transit will provide free shuttles to the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service and Celebration on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, at the Mercer Park and Aquatics Center, 2701 Bradford Drive. 

The free shuttles will be available at four distinct locations: 

  • Broadway Neighborhood Center, 2015 Broadway St. First shuttle leaves at 8:30 a.m.
  • Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St. First shuttle leaves at 8:45 a.m.
  • Lakeside Drive/Nevada Avenue Bus Stop #7052. First shuttle leaves at 8:40 a.m.
  • Pheasant Ridge Neighborhood Center, 2651 Roberts Road. First shuttle leaves at 8:30 a.m.

The Day of Service beings at 9 a.m. with a march from Eastdale Plaza to Mercer Park. The first buses of the morning will stop at Eastdale Plaza for those who wish to march. 

After the march, there will be service projects, music, awards, a keynote address, a free lunch, discussions, and more inside Mercer Park's Scanlon Gymnasium. For more information about the Day of Service, visit our website.
