The Iowa City Police Department is asking for continued help from the public in identifying a suspected bank robber. First American Bank is now offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest of a suspect and Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering $1,000.   
On July 20, 2016 at approximately 1:53 p.m. officers responded to First American Bank, located at 640 Highway 1 West in Iowa City, for a report of an armed robbery. Officers flooded the area looking for a black male, dressed in black that had fled the bank on foot. 

The suspect has not been located. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police department immediately.

Those who wish to remain anonymous, but have information regarding the crime are urged to contact CrimeStoppers at 358-TIPS (8477) or at www.iccrimestoppers.org. All contacts are held in strict confidence and anonymity is guaranteed. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.

This case remains under investigation by the Iowa City Police Department. Members of the Johnson County Drug Task Force, University of Iowa Department of Public Safety, Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and University Heights Police assisted.
