Motorists should expect intermittent lane closures along Highway 6 beginning Dec. 12, 2022. The lane closures will only take place in the westbound lanes of Highway 6 between North Riverside Drive and Rocky Shore Drive and when weather allows.

The tree removal will occur from 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. to prevent major traffic impacts. Weather permitting, the project should take about three weeks.

The lane closures will facilitate the removal of trees along Highway 6 between the road and the CRANDIC rail line. Many of the trees in this area are dead and decaying and could pose a public safety risk if they were to fall.

Trees on the northside of the CRANDIC rail line will not be removed.
