Hawkeye football fans who are headed to Iowa City for the game this weekend are reminded that there may be some traffic delays on Dubuque Street due to ongoing construction on the Iowa City Gateway Project. Drivers are encouraged to arrive early or use an alternate route to Kinnick Stadium to avoid delays. The Hawkeyes face the Michigan Wolverines on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, beginning at 7 p.m.

Before the game, traffic on Dubuque Street will run normally, in northbound and southbound directions. After the game, however, both lanes will run northbound to accommodate post-game traffic. Southbound drivers will not have access to Dubuque Street during the temporary, one-way conversion.

Drivers are urged to pay close attention while driving through the area, as detour pavements and crossovers are now in place.

The Iowa City Gateway Project is a flood mitigation project that will elevate Dubuque Street while also raising and replacing the Park Road Bridge. To learn more, visit icgov.org/gatewayproject.
