Beginning the week of July 25, 2022, the City of Iowa City will revert all 10-minute "pick-up/drop-off" spaces in the Downtown area back to metered parking spaces.

The temporary 10-minute parking spaces were established during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide additional support to Downtown businesses and delivery services. Parking will continue to be available at more than 1,200 on-street, metered parking spaces Downtown and near Downtown.

Additionally, there are eight Loading Zones and ten Commercial Loading Zones designated for short-term use in the Downtown. Parking in the Capitol Street, Dubuque Street, and Tower Place ramps and the Court Street Transportation Center remain free for the first hour.

As a reminder, parking vehicles in bike lanes is prohibited by City Code. Bike lanes cannot be used for pick up and deliveries.
