Moving and can’t take all your stuff? The City of Iowa City encourages you to donate furniture, clothing, housewares, books and other materials you no longer need, rather than sending usable items to the landfill.

If you’re moving at the end of July, consider donating to the City of Iowa City’s Rummage in the Ramp, a community-wide garage sale that accepts donations of items you no longer need and sells them at low prices. The sale keeps tons of items out of the Landfill, while also benefiting local nonprofits that staff the 10-day event.

Rummage in the Ramp is scheduled for July 26 - August 3,2017 at Chauncey Swan Parking Ramp, located in the 400-block of Washington Street, across from City Hall. Watch for updates on the web at icgov.org/rummageintheramp or RSVP to the event Facebook page.

If you are moving ahead of Rummage in the Ramp, you can donate your belongings to area nonprofits, agencies and businesses, or consign them. A recently updated list of Iowa City area resale and consignment is available at icgov.org/landfillresources.
