The Iowa City Land Management, Permitting, and Licensing software will undergo planned updates on Thursday, April 21, and Friday, April 22, 2022, causing a disruption of related online City services.

This software is used by Building Inspections, Housing Inspections, the Urban Planning Division, and the Public Works Department. Alcoholic beverage licenses and permits through the City Clerk's Office will also be impacting.

During this time, the public will have limited access to these records and will be unable to apply or pay for permits, licenses, or land use cases or to schedule inspections in the online Customer Self Service (CSS) portal. Users will need to complete applications online before or after this time period.

During this software upgrade, limited, time-sensitive building inspections can be scheduled by calling Development Services Assistant Amalia Bascom at 319-356-5120. Building inspections must be scheduled 24 hours in advance starting Wednesday, April 20, 2022.

Should an emergency arise and a Public Works permit is needed immediately, applicants should contact Project Coordinator Kim Sandberg, 319-356-5139. Only emergency needs will be processed.

Starting Saturday, April 23 all inspections scheduling will resume through the Customer Self Service Portal.

For general assistance or questions, the following staff may also be contacted:
