The City of Iowa City will collect household hazardous waste Friday at the East Side Recycling Center. 

This event, for households only, is Friday, March 24, 2017, from 8  to 11 a.m. at the East Side Recycling Center, 2401 Scott Blvd. SE, Iowa City. There is no cost to participate.

Residents of Iowa City and other communities in rural Johnson County, Kalona and Riverside, can dispose of one box of household hazardous waste per household. Latex paint will not be accepted. People with more than one box of household hazardous waste and all businesses, or those with materials not accepted at the mobile event can call 319-356-5185 to make an appointment for disposal at the Iowa City Landfill’s household hazardous waste collection facility.
