Weather permitting, beginning on Monday, July 27, South Dubuque Street between Court Street and Prentiss Street will be closed to facilitate street reconstruction work associated with the Harrison Street Project. It is anticipated that this work will be completed and Dubuque Street will be reopened to traffic on Sept. 4, 2015.

Motorists are to take note of this construction work and to seek an alternate route during this time period. As always, caution should be exercised when traveling in all construction areas.

Effective from 5:45 a.m. until approximately 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, Iowa City Transit routes will detour due to RAGBRAI. All Iowa City Transit routes will continue to service the downtown interchange located at the intersection of Clinton Street and Washington Street during the RAGBRAI events downtown. Team registration has begun for the Iowa City Girls Fall Softball League and will continue through 5 p.m. on August 20. Four competitive divisions will be in play this fall: Under 10 years of age (or U10), U12, U14, and U16.

Cost is $400 per team, and participants must register as a team, not as individuals. Team rosters may be determined later. A maximum of eight teams will be allowed per division. To register, stop by the Information Desk at the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center at 220 S. Gilbert Street.
