The Iowa City City Council will vote to adopt the final version of the Iowa City Bicycle Master Plan during its meeting Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017.
The goal of the plan is to make Iowa City a more bicycle-friendly community by implementing changes that will make bicycling safer, easier and more accessible to people of all ages and abilities in Iowa City. The plan will guide investment in bicycle infrastructure as well as educational programing to meet these goals.
Community feedback through open house sessions, online questionnaires and feedback submissions has been key in developing this plan over the last year.
The Bicycle Master Plan is part of the City Council strategic priority to attain Gold Bike Friendly Community status from the League of American Bicyclists.
