On November 12, 2016, at approximately 12:42 a.m. the Iowa City Police Department (ICPD) was dispatched to a residence on Prairie Du Chien Road to a report of a harassing letter. This matter was referred to the ICPD Investigations division. Upon the ICPD Investigator meeting with the victim, it was reported that the victim left the residence around midnight and returned at approximately 12:40 a.m. to find a letter containing a racial and threatening message taped to his front door. There were no reported witnesses to this event and there are no suspects at this time.

Registration is now underway for the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department's Winter Break Camp, which keeps kids busy, learning, and entertained during their holiday break from school. This year's camp activities focus on science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). The camp is scheduled for Dec. 27-30, 2016 and Jan. 3-4, 2017 for kindergarten through sixth grade students.
