Iowa City Animal Services investigates dog bite

On Monday, March 27, 2023, Iowa City Animal Services received notification that a person had been bitten by a dog. The dog is described as a black/gray and white Husky. According to the information provided, the bite occurred around 1:15 p.m. Saturday, March 25, along the walking trails behind West High School and near Irving Avenue. The owner was described as a short woman with pink in her hair.

Iowa City Animal Services is seeking information on the rabies vaccination status of the dog. If anyone has any information, they are encouraged to contact Iowa City Animal Services...

The City will launch a new version of its website, www.ICgov.org , on Thursday, March 30, 2023. The fresh, new look is intended to provide a more user-friendly experience for the Iowa City community!

The project began about two years ago with the selection of the website development company Granicus. Last year, the City gathered public input for suggestions on the redesign through a community survey. This feedback was used, along with the website analytics and best practices guidance from Granicus, to build the new site.

The Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department has been awarded two separate grants that will help plant new trees around town. The combined funds will provide $15,000 towards the City’s efforts to expand and diversify our urban tree canopy.

Ready to make a difference? This year in honor of Earth Day, Iowa City will be hosting its second Neighborhood Energy Blitz on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Volunteers are needed to help go door to door delivering energy-saving kits to homes in the Creekside Neighborhood.

Volunteers will meet at Chadek Green Park and will serve in teams that will cover walking routes of approximately two miles. The Community Police Board (CPRB) will host its annual Community Forum to hear views on Iowa City Police Department policies and procedures.

The community is invited to submit questions and comments that will be used during the event.
