Starting at 7 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019, a portion of the Iowa River Trail south of Highway 6 will be closed for trail work.

The City High School Homecoming Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2019. The parade route will begin at Mercer Park, 2701 Bradford Dr., and proceed west on Bradford Drive to First Avenue. The parade will then travel north on First Avenue to Bates Field where it will end. Traffic will not be allowed on or across the route once the parade begins. Drivers traveling in the area are encouraged to use an alternate route as delays are expected.

With work on the east end of College Street finished, the Ped Mall Improvements Project focus has shifted to the west end.

Crew members installed pavers, as well as planter foundations and walls. Work removing the composite brick and concrete from the intersection of College and Clinton streets has begun. Traffic signs will eventually be replaced as well.

Additional bike racks will be installed on both ends of College Street. The east end bike racks will be installed this week.

The next Ped Mall Renovation Project meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 27...

Weather permitting, beginning early Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, Woodside Drive between Oakcrest Street and Woodside Place will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction.

These lane reductions are necessary to facilitate street pavement repairs. It is anticipated that the lane reductions will be open by Friday, Sept. 27, 2019.

Motorists are encouraged to allow extra travel time during this time period. As always, caution should be exercised when driving through all construction areas.
