In the afternoon of Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, an individual reported being bitten by a small, white, fluffy dog in the 900 Block of North Dodge Street.

The dog was wearing a collar with tags, and was running loose with no owner present. It was last seen running in the 800 Block of Brown Street.

Update: The Iowa City Police Department and the Johnson County Medical Examiner's Office have released the identity of the victim of the Feb. 12, 2021 suspicious death in Iowa City.

The victim has been identified as Quincy H. Russom, 19, of Iowa City. Based on initial information, including the preliminary autopsy results, the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

On Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at approximately 7:54 p.m., Iowa City Police were called to an apartment in the 600 block of South Governor Street in Iowa City for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers found a deceased adult male victim. A witness advised that three men entered the residence, shot the victim, and fled.

The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa City Police Department, the Johnson County Attorney’s Office, and the Johnson County Medical Examiner’s Office. The victim has been identified, but the identity will not be released pending family notification...
