At 10:03 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21, the Iowa City Fire Department (ICFD) responded to a reported fire at 2049 Little Creek Lane, a duplex structure. The first units arrived to find fire visible on the front of the building, primarily on the garages to both 2049 and 2041 Little Creek Lane. Crews quickly extinguished the exterior fire and then performed extensive work to uncover hidden fire in the walls and attic spaces. Crews contained the fire and brought it under control within 20 minutes of arrival. All occupants had self-evacuated prior to the arrival of the fire department.

Iowa City youth will breathe life into some of history’s most important figures at the Black History Living Museum on Saturday, Feb. 20 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Robert A.
