City of Iowa City administrative offices at City Hall, 410 E. Washington Street, will be closed on Monday, July 4, 2016 for the holiday. Other City facilities that will be closed, or changes that will take place to City services and schedules on July 4, are as follows:

Airport: The office will be closed on Monday, but Jet Air will be open from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., and 24-hour self-serve fuel will be available.

Animal Care and Adoption Center: Closed Monday.

Landfill: Closed Monday.

Library: Closed Monday.

Parking: The Parking and Transportation Office on Iowa Avenue will be closed on Monday. City parking ramps will be open, but will be unstaffed.

Parks and Recreation: Offices at both recreation centers will be closed on Monday. Facilities will operate as follows: Indoor pools will close at 4 p.m. on Monday. At 5 p.m., the Robert A. Lee Recreation Center and Mercer Park Aquatic Center / Scanlon Gym will close. City Park Pool is open regular hours, with adult lap swim from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and open public swim from 1 to 8 p.m.

Police: Offices for administration and records will be closed, but Patrol will operate as usual.

Senior Center: Closed Monday. No senior meals will be served.

Solid Waste: Garbage, recycling, and yard waste will not be collected on Monday, July 4. Residents on the Monday route should have materials at the curb by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, although the City cannot determine exactly when items will be collected. Residents whose pick-up days are Tuesday through Friday should follow their normal schedule.

Transit: No bus service on Monday.

Water: The Water Division will be closed for the holiday, but if a water emergency occurs, call the 24-hour emergency number at 319-356-5166.

Normal City operations will resume on Tuesday, July 5.
