The City of Iowa City has earned a score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign's 11th annual Municipal Equality Index (MEI). The MEI is a nationwide evaluation of 506 cities in every state in the nation on how inclusive municipal laws, policies, and services are for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people who live and work there.

Transit schedule announced for week of Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving holiday will bring some changes to Iowa City Transit service.

Starting Monday, Nov. 21, 2022, the #4 - Downtown Shuttle route will be suspended until Monday, Nov. 28, 2022, due to the Thanksgiving holiday break for University of Iowa students.

There will be no Transit service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 24, 2022. Due to a home Hawkeyes football game, the Saturday football transit schedule will be in place on Friday, Nov. 25, 2022. There will be normal service on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2022.
