Due to recent heavy rains in the Iowa River Basin, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has increased its outflow from the Coralville Lake Reservoir from 6,000 cubic feet per second (cfs) to 10,000 cfs.
Due to this change, residents may notice increased water levels along the Iowa River. Low lying areas in Iowa City, including some parks and trails, can be impacted at these outflow rates. There is currently no major flooding event expected with this outflow change.
