The City has created a long-term Strategic Plan for FY 2023 - 2028 that outlines the City's vision, values, strategies, and primary areas of focus of City policies, projects, programs, and initiatives over a six-year period.
This Strategic Plan, which was adopted by City Council on Dec. 6, 2022, builds on the City's previous plans to foster a more inclusive, just, and sustainable Iowa City by prioritizing the physical, mental, and economic well-being of all residents.
The Strategic Plan highlights three values, which are the lens through which the City will carry out all programs and services and four areas of focus which will positively impact our community:
