The Iowa City Public Art Advisory Committee is now accepting proposals for performance programs to be held in Iowa City. Up to $2,000 in funding is available and provided by the Iowa City Art Program.
Proposals can submitted until 5 p.m. July 19, 2019 and will be reviewed Aug. 1, 2019. Applicants will be notified by Aug. 9, 2019.
Examples of performance art include, but are not limited to: dance, music, opera, theater, drama, mime, magic, puppetry, oratory, and circus arts. Performance art may also include digital, projection, and light art pieces.
They can be performed on public or private property, with permission from property owner, but must remain publicly accessible and free of charge. Event must occur by or before Oct. 21, 2019.
Organizations, schools, individuals, nonprofit art organizations, privately owned businesses, and government units located in Iowa City are all eligible to apply.
