The City of Iowa City's proposed budget for fiscal year 2018 and the proposed Capital Improvement Program plan for 2017-2021 are now available online at http://www.icgov.org/budget. Printed copies are also available for viewing at the Iowa City Public Library at 123 S. Linn Street and the City Clerk's Office in City Hall at 410 E. Washington Street.
The City Council will hold a work session from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017 in Emma J. Harvat Hall at City Hall during which staff will present the proposed budget and the proposed five-year Capital Improvement Program. An additional budget work session is scheduled Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017 from 1 to 7 p.m., also in Emma Harvat Hall.
These meetings are open for the public to attend and observe. A public hearing will be set to allow for residents' input, and scheduling of final adoption of the budget will be done soon thereafter.
