Following a public hearing, the Iowa City Council approved the changes to fares and passes at their June 1, 2021 meeting. These changes are a result of the Iowa City Area Transit Study that began in August 2019. The transit study reviewed bus routes, stops, schedules, fares, and transfer policies, and looked at ways to better coordinate area transit systems. Based on the study, Iowa City Transit will also implement new routes and schedules effective August 2, 2021. New bus schedules will be available at www.icgov.org/transit and on buses in early July.
