Iowa City Transit will offer free rides on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020. Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 9 p.m.

“Our goal is to remove transportation as a barrier, and help people get to the polls and exercise their right to vote,” Transportation Services Director Darian Nagle-Gamm said. “We never want transportation to be a reason why someone didn’t vote."

Rides will be free to everyone all day. No proof of voter registration or destination is required to ride for free.

Iowa City’s Streets Division is anticipating that leaf crews will be able to complete one and a half to two zones per day for the first few weeks of the program.

Crews will not go back for missed leaf piles. Leaves need to be accessible to crews and free of parked cars. To guarantee pickup, have all of your leaves at the curb by 7 a.m. on the first day your zone is scheduled. View the zone map at www.icgov.org/leafvacuum .
