Tuesday, Nov. 9: Glass that Lasts

Did you know that glass is 100% recyclable forever?! Learn how you can recycle glass, where it goes, and what is to come for more glass recycling options in our area.

Wednesday, Nov. 10: Batteries in Disguise

Phones, computers, power tools, toys, gadgets upon gadgets…just think of all the “stuff” we use that are powered by batteries. These little power sources are convenient in our everyday lives, but when we are done with them, batteries or battery-containing gadgets should not go into the trash. Batteries that are thrown in the trash cause landfill fires. Learn how you can prevent battery fires with proper battery recycling.

Thursday, Nov. 11: The Value of Cardboard

Wondering why cardboard is not allowed in the trash in Johnson County? It is such a recyclable, valuable material that it just doesn’t make sense to throw it out. Learn more about the cardboard ban and where you can recycle cardboard!

Tune in to the free, online lunch hour event, “Speaking Of…” Virtual Event," on America Recycles Day ® at noon on Monday, Nov. 15, 2021. The discussion features City staff talking about food waste. Those interested can register online.
