Each year, the City’s Historic Preservation Commission and the Friends of Historic Preservation host a recognition program to acknowledge property owners, consultants, contractors, craftspersons, and community organizations for their preservation efforts and completion of historically appropriate projects. 

This year marks the program's 35th year. It will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, at the Iowa City Public Library's Meeting Room A, 123 S. Linn St. 

Light refreshments will be served beginning at 5 p.m. There is no cost to attend and all are welcome. 

Residential and commercial properties will be recognized in several award categories including, Paint and Exterior Finishes; Rehabilitation; and Additions and New Construction.
