UPDATE: Iowa City Police officers have made an arrest following a recent gunshots investigation.
On Saturday, February 25, 2017, just before 9 p.m. police responded to the area of Taylor and Hollywood Drives after receiving reports of several gunshots in the area.
Officers checked the area and found a vehicle that had been shot multiple times and initiated an investigation. A potential suspect was developed by the investigating officers.
On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, investigators interviewed that suspect and determined he was responsible for the shots fired. As a result of the investigation, the following individual was charged with Possession of a Firearm as a felon and Reckless Use of a Firearm:
Curtis Ray Bell, 35, of 1102 Hollywood Boulevard No. 6, Iowa City, Iowa
This incident remains under investigation by the Iowa City Police Department. Officers were assisted in this investigation by the University of Iowa Police Department.
As with any criminal case, a charge is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Descriptions of the subjects seen running from the area immediately after the shots were heard are two black males, one wearing a dark jacket and tan pants.
