Iowa City Police have identified the individual who fired a shot at another person in the 2400 Block of Bittersweet Court on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021. The person has been identified as Danielle Lyronda Williams, 21, of Coralville. She has been charged with the following offenses:
- Intimidation with a Dangerous Weapon
- Dominion/Control of a Firearm by a Domestic Abuser
- Dominion/Control of a Firearm by a Domestic Abuser (second count)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

On Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, at approximately 4:54 p.m., Iowa City Police responded to the 2400 block of Bittersweet Court for a female reporting another female tried to shoot her. Officers located the victim who reported another female approached her, began arguing with her, pulled out a handgun, and attempted to shoot her. A shell casing and property damage from the bullet were located at the scene and witnesses told officers they saw another person fire a gun at the victim.
No injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as a dark-skinned female with very short or shaved hair, slender build, wearing a black jacket and blue, black, and white shirt.
