Applications are now available for the City of Iowa City’s Aid to Agencies funding, which provides support for Iowa City nonprofits, organizations, and agencies to help cover the operational costs of their organizations. Fundraising often doesn’t provide for rent, utilities, and other operational costs, so this program helps agencies cover those gaps.
The minimum award is $15,000. Agencies whose projects address a high priority need in the Iowa City community will be considered first for funding. Priorities are outlined at www.icgov.org/aidtoagencies.
After reviewing applications, the Iowa City Housing and Community Development Commission (HCDC) will forward a recommendation to the City Council for final review and funding approval.
Applications are available at www.unitedwayjc.org/content/fy17-joint-funding-application and are due by 5 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015 for FY17 funds, which will begin to be distributed July 1, 2016. United Way has scheduled two training workshops to provide more instruction on the application process. Agencies and organizations that are applying for Iowa City funds are encouraged to attend one of the following:
- Tuesday, Aug. 11 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Johnson County Health & Human Services Building, 913 S. Dubuque Street, Iowa City, Room 203
- Thursday, Aug. 13 from 3 to 4 p.m. at the United Way office, 1150 5th Street in Coralville, Ste. 290
