Area organizations are invited to apply for the Community Climate Action Grant.
This program aims to address and enhance local climate action through innovative work that aligns with the actions in the Iowa City Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. Applications will be accepted Friday, Feb. 1 through Friday, March 1, 2019.
The City Council identified the reduction of city-wide carbon emissions as one of its strategic plan priorities, and recently adopted a Climate Action Plan which was created to reach reduction goals identical to those the U.S. committed to in the Paris Climate Agreement in December 2015. This grant is designed to help further those goals.
To qualify, project goals must focus on climate in Iowa City. Grants cannot exceed $5,000, with $25,000 in funding available immediately, and $25,000 available July 1. All funding should be spent by June 30, 2020.
