On Tuesday, May 4, 2021, an individual reported being bitten by a white German Shepherd dog while he was running at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021, south of City Park near Catlett Residence Hall. 

The dog was on a leash under control of a light-skinned man that had a beard, wearing a hat, and appeared to be in his late 20s or early 30s. The owner of the dog told the victim the dog is four years old. 

Iowa City Animal Services is looking to locate the owner of the dog for information regarding its rabies vaccination history. If anyone has information about the identity of the owner, they are encouraged to contact Iowa City Animal services directly and 319-356-5295 or the Iowa City Police Department at 319-356-5275.
