Iowa City Animal Services is asking for the public’s help in locating the owner of a brown and black German Shepherd that bit a female on Friday, May 6 near the intersection of Sheridan Avenue and Roosevelt Street. The incident occurred around 3:30 p.m.

According to the investigative report, the victim was walking in the area and passed a woman who was walking the dog. The dog lunged, biting the victim on the arm and ribs. The woman who was walking the dog told the victim that the dog was current on its rabies vaccination, but the Animal Services Division needs information regarding the vaccination. The woman who was with the dog is described as middle-aged with brunette, shoulder-length hair.
