Iowa City Transit will resume operating the Eastside Loop route for the 2016-2017 academic school year on Wednesday, August 24, 2016. 

Due to changes to the bell schedule made by the Iowa City Community School District, the AM and PM Eastside Loop route schedules have been adjusted for the new start and end times. The actual routes remain the same as the 2015-2016 school year.

The AM Eastside Loop route will now begin at 7:35 a.m. at the 1st Avenue Hy-Vee (stop 7258) on Muscatine Avenue each morning when school is in session. The AM Eastside Loop will arrive at City High School at approximately 7:40 a.m., at Regina Education Center at approximately 7:44 a.m., Southeast Junior High School at approximately 8:27 a.m., City High School again at 8:40 a.m. and finally Regina Education Center at 8:44 a.m.

The PM Eastside Loop route will begin service at the Regina Education Center (stop 7419) located on Rochester Avenue at 4:05 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday and at 3:05 p.m. each Thursday due to early release. The PM Eastside Loop route will arrive at City High School (stop 7602) at approximately 4:10 p.m. and at Southeast Junior High at approximately 4:16 p.m. (one hour earlier on Thursdays).

The Eastside Loop transit route will continue last year’s detour during the upcoming closure of First Avenue, which will begin Sat. Aug. 20, 2016. 

Maps of the AM & PM route along with the AM & PM schedule is available for viewing at note, the Bongo map is not currently showing the most accurate Eastside Loop route. We are working to get it fixed.
