Each year, Iowa City’s Historic Preservation Commission and the Friends of Historic Preservation host the Historic Preservation Recognition Program to acknowledge property owners, consultants, contractors, craftspersons, and community organizations for their efforts and completion of historically appropriate projects. This year’s event, scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 19, 2017, marks the program’s 34th year. It will be held in Meeting Room A at the Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn Street, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served beforehand, beginning at 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend the event and there is no admission charge.
Residential, commercial, and institutional properties will be recognized in several award categories: Paint and Exterior Finishes; Rehabilitation; and Additions and New Construction.
The event is sponsored by Iowa City Window and Door, MidWestOne Bank and New Pioneer Co-op. For more information, contact Iowa City Historic Preservation Planner Jessica Bristow at 319-356-5243 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
