Crews will shut-down the 100 Block of North Linn Street today, Thursday August 18, 2016 for the first annual Farm to Street Dinner.
The event will bring together roughly 200 people who will join around a table, outside on Linn Street and share a delicious six-course meal prepared by several downtown Iowa City chefs with locally produced ingredients. Money raised will support local food efforts including the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Foundation and the Iowa City Community School District Farm to School program.
City crews will close the road and no longer allow parking beginning at 11 a.m. for set-up. The dinner event will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and organizers expect to have the area cleaned-up and road reopened after 10 p.m. Sidewalks will remain open during this time.
Tickets for this event went on sale in June and sold out within 48-hours.
