Created in 2021, the Iowa City Sculptors Showcase is a program designed to provide opportunities for local Iowa artists to exhibit their work. The City of Iowa City’s Public Art Advisory Committee (PAAC) selects work to be on display for one year at one of five pads located throughout the community. The sculptures are evaluated on artistic merit, creativity, public safety, appropriateness to its location, and outdoor durability. Three pads are located in the Riverfront Crossings Park, one in the Terry Trueblood Recreation Area, and another at Mercer Park.

These temporary exhibits will be on display from August 6, 2021, through July 2022. Artists will receive a commission of $1500 for the one-year display.
