Iowa City Parks and Recreation offers several camps as well as programs with content that cover nature and STEAM (Science, technology, engineering, art, and math). Our camps and classes are designed to inspire creativity while allowing kids to interact in a safe setting. Participants are encouraged to explore their environment to help them grow.

Seasonal Camps

Summer Camp 2025

Iowa City Parks and Recreation is excited to bring back our Summer Day Camp for youth currently enrolled in K-4th grade, 2024-25 school year! This summer, the camp will be held at Mercer Park, Shelter #1, offering 8 one-week sessions filled with outdoor fun, adventure, and new friendships. Campers will enjoy activities like arts and crafts, team games, swimming, and nature exploration, all guided by our friendly staff. Don’t miss out—space is limited! Registration opens March 4, for Iowa City residents and March 5, for non-residents.

Step One

Step Two

Submit the Camper Information Form to finalize the registration process after you have registered via ActiveNet (linked above). Please note: Your child’s registration is not complete until the Camper Information Form has been received by the Recreation Division and the ActiveNet registration has been made

Rec Assist Information

Attending summer camp is an enriching experience that provides children with opportunities for growth, fun, and skill-building. Iowa City Parks & Recreation is committed to offering summer camp programs to all Iowa City residents, regardless of financial barriers.

Those that qualify for our RecAssist Program would be eligible for 50% off not only camp enrollment but enrollment to all Iowa City Parks and Recreation Programs for the whole family. It is easy to apply and will qualify you for the whole calendar year!
