Community Police Review Board forum

The Community Police Review Board (CPRB) will host its annual Community Forum to hear views on Iowa City Police Department policies, practices and procedures. The community is invited to submit questions and comments that will be used during the event.

The forum will begin at 6 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2018, inside Meeting Room A of the Iowa City Public Library, 123 S. Linn St.

Police Chief Jody Matherly and Downtown Liaison Officer Colin Fowler will also attend the forum and be available to meet and talk with participants.

Queso with a Cop

The Iowa City Police Department will host its first Queso with a Cop from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Pancheros Mexican Grill, 32 S. Clinton St. 

Chips and queso will be provided by Pancheros first come, first served. 

Queso with a Cop, similar to the ongoing Coffee with a Cop initiative, is an opportunity to sit down with police officers to discuss community issues and problems in a casual setting, but this time over mouthwatering cheesy queso.   

National Prescription Drug Take Back Day

The community is invited to safely dispose of expired, unused and unwanted medications during a local collection event on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, Saturday, April 28, 2018. Drop off medications, as well as household sharps and needles, anytime between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the East Side Recycling Center, 2401 Scott Blvd SE. This service is free and open to all, no questions asked.
