Become a member of the ICPL Digital Media Lab! The Digital Media Lab has the technology to help you complete your digital projects, including: handheld and archival scanners, Adobe Creative Suite software, a large (Tabloid size) format color printer, and much more. The room is designed to help people digitize their current collections, clean up or edit digital images or video, or create new digital work such as graphics, animations and more. To use the lab individuals should have a library card and some experience with the programs and devices you are using.

Tech-Help Drop in Hours

Stop by to learn more about the technology you carry with you every day, or ask questions about new and unfamiliar tech tools and services. We encourage you to bring in your cell phones, tablet computers, e-readers, mp3 players, digital cameras, or other pocket gadgets for hands-on guidance.

Strong Girls Short Film Festival

Kick off Women's History Month at ICPL! We'll be screening several short films based on children's books that celebrate strong, unconventional, and inspiring girls. Popcorn will be served! After the films, stay to make an activist button and a zine (a small-scale, grassroots magazine) to promote gender equality.

Milonga Tango Dance Party

Join us for a Milonga hosted by the Iowa City Tango Club. A Milonga is a festive time to concentrate on dancing, socializing, and enjoying food and refreshment with fellow dancers and friends. Dance, listen, and enjoy authentic Argentine tango music. Admission includes some snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. Feel free to bring your own favorite snacks or non-alcoholic beverage to share. Help with set-up and take-down is welcome.

Fee: $5/person; pay at the door. No registration.

Deb Walser presents “Blueberries, Strawberries and Raspberries, ohmy!” and “Introduction to the newest and coolest annuals and perennials.” An active Linn County Master Gardener, and recently retired perennial expert from Peck’s Green Thumb Nursery in Cedar Rapids, Deb's love affair with berries began as a child in her grandmother’s raspberry patch. She will share her experience and success in growing the best tasting berries in your backyard with tips for the right soil, location, watering and pruning techniques.
