Influenza is a serious disease that can lead to hospitalization and sometimes even death. Every flu season is different, and influenza infection can affect people differently. Even healthy people can get very sick from the flu and spread it to others. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cites annual vaccination as the best protection against influenza. To ensure that our community is protected, the Visiting Nurse Association provides flu and pneumonia vaccination clinics at The Center and other locations each fall. The VNA will directly bill Medicare, Medicare Replacement, Blue Cross and other insurance companies. Bring your Medicare or insurance card with you to the clinic. For further information, call the VNA at 319-337-9686, ext. 1155.
Fee: $35 for flu shot (Quadrivalent), $62 for high-dose flu shot; pay VNA at clinic. No registration.
