Information for artists interested in exhibiting at The Center
The Center offers two exhibit spaces, The Old Post Office Gallery, and the Top Floor Gallery, both located at 28 South Linn Street, Iowa City. Both gallery areas are open to the public seven days a week. The Old Post Office Gallery is located on the first floor of The Center and will accommodate from 25 to 30 paintings depending on size.
Artists typically exhibit work in either the Old Post Office or Top Floor Gallery, however both spaces may be utilized by one artist. Those who may not have enough work to fill the space are welcome to “team up” with another artist and exhibit together. All artwork must be suitable for hanging on the walls using The Center’s flexible wall hanging system. Artists are asked to help with the installation process for their show. In addition to wall space, four enclosed Plexiglas stands are available for three dimensional art work.
All work may be offered for sale or for display only. Art sales help support The Center. A commission of 25 percent should be figured in when determining sale price. If you wish to exhibit at The Center please print contact the Senior Center's Program Specialist by email at Michelle-Buhman@iowa-city.org or call 319-356-5222
