The season begins at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 6, 2019, at Mercer Park, located at 2701 Bradford Drive.
2019 Party in the Park

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy live music by the Iowa City Community Band. Games, arts and crafts, and treats will also be available.
Each party will have its own theme this year. Follow our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/ICParksandRec or visit our website at www.icgov.org/pr to stay up-to-date.
Party in the Park is a no-fee event and is open to the public.

Sponsored by the Iowa City Parks and Recreation Department and the Neighborhood Outreach Division, Party in the Park gives residents a chance to enjoy their summer evenings outdoors with friends and family while exploring the City’s many beautiful natural spaces.

Upcoming Events

Trueblood 100 Family Bike Ride
Keep it 100 and join us at the inaugural Trueblood 100 Family Bike Ride! Coined as the "shortest century," this ride is perfect for everyone from little tikes to adults. The event is free and open to the public.
The ride is meant to be a community and family event — in order to participate, you are required to have a team of 2 or more. As a team, you will complete one of four "century" ride options — the more people you have on your team, the less miles you'll ride!

Ride options include:
• Century (100 miles)
• Metric Century 100km (62 miles)
• ½ Century (50 miles)
• ½ Metric Century 50km (31 miles)

The event will take place from 1 to 6 p.m. Riders are welcome to start at any point after 1p.m. We will have a station where you can "register," and will have healthy snacks and water for participants to enjoy.

Eco Book Discussion: Kiss the Ground
Are you interested in how the soil and climate change are connected? Or how eating and farming a certain way is healthier for us, the ground, and can help reverse climate change?
Join Green Iowa AmeriCorps and the Iowa City Public Library (ICPL) in this Eco Book Discussion on Josh Tickell's "Kiss the Ground". Please read the book prior to the discussion to enjoy and engage in conversation about "Kiss the Ground".
Books are available for checkout at the Iowa City Public Library. The discussion will be held on Saturday, May 18 at the ICPL in Meeting Room B at 10:30 a.m.
