APPLICATION INFORMATION FOR THE IOWA CITY HOUSING AUTHORITY
The Iowa City Housing Authority is located in Iowa City, Iowa. We operate two rental assistance programs. Following is a brief explanation of both programs. NOTE: if interested in both programs, you must file separate applications. Click on the links for more details:
The Housing Choice Voucher Program (HCV):
Families with a HCV voucher choose and lease safe, decent and affordable privately owned rental housing. The Iowa City Housing Authority has 1,215 vouchers. You can move with this assistance and it is transferrable to other Housing Authorities.
Public Housing Program:
The Iowa City Housing Authority is the landlord and rents these units to eligible tenants. These units are 2, 3 & 4-bedroom single-family homes, duplexes, tri-plexes and row houses in the City of Iowa City. Rent assistance is only available if you live in one of 81 Public Housing units. You cannot transfer this assistance.
