Communicating with the City Council

Council members do not have set hours at City Hall. Residents are welcome to contact them via their listed contact information. If you contact the entire Council and your information pertains to an agenda item, it will be distributed in the meeting packet. The deadline for this is 9 a.m. on the Thursday prior to the meeting and distribution will be that afternoon. If your information was received after the agenda was printed but before the meeting, it will be distributed electronically to council members at 4 p.m. on Monday or 3 p.m. by hardcopy on Tuesday.

Public Comment at a Council Meeting

Residents are welcome to address Council at its formal meetings. Any item not on the agenda may be discussed during community comment. Agenda items may be discussed as items appear. Comments should be limited to three minutes. The Mayor reserves the right to reduce the 3 minute period based on the number of individuals desiring to speak. No pre-registration is required. If your comments include digital media such as PowerPoint presentations, DVDs or slides, come to the City Clerk's office between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. the day of the meeting to load your presentation on city equipment. The presentation will then be preserved permanently and allow continued access by the public. Media that cannot be printed, such as movies and/or digital video will not be accepted. It must be converted to an acceptable media for archiving.
