The outbound 5-Lower Muscatine, 8-Oakcrest, 10-West Iowa City, 12-Highway 1, and 13-South Gilbert routes will detour on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2026. These routes will detour using Washington Street, to Capitol Street, to Burlington Street. 

These routes detoured earlier this week because of road work on Washington Street near the Iowa City Transit interchange. The extended detours are needed due to recent weather. 

Bus stop closure

Bus stop 1050, located on Madison Street, in front of the University of Iowa's Main Library, will not be serviced during these dates. Passengers who use this stop will need to catch their bus from the transit interchange alongside the Old Capitol Town Center.
