Memorial Day Program

Community members are invited to join the annual Memorial Day Program on Monday, May 25, as the Johnson County Military Affairs Association and American Legion Post 17 honor the brave service members who gave their lives in defense of our nation.

Solar Power Hour

Swing by Big Grove on May 26 for a free Solar Power Hour to learn how solar energy works, explore cost-saving opportunities, and connect with local experts about solar options.

Splash pads

The City’s three splash pads will open on Memorial Day weekend. These free, touch activated water features will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Emergency awareness decals

The Iowa City Police and Fire Departments are offering free emergency awareness decals to help first responders quickly identify important medical or communication needs during an emergency.
