The City of Iowa City is offering complimentary “It’s A Matter of Pride” yard signs to help residents and businesses show their colors and stand tall in celebration of love, identity, and community. With Pride Month approaching, these signs provide a simple, visible way to affirm inclusion and support across the community.

Signs are available on a first-come, first-served basis and can be picked up at the City Hall front lobby information desk, located at 410 E. Washington St., during regular business hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday). Due to limited supply, individuals are asked to take only one sign per household, business, or organization.

To ensure compliance with City sign ordinances, participants should follow a few guidelines. Signs must be placed on private property and not within the public right-of-way. For corner lots, signs must not obstruct the vision triangle at intersections. The reusable, waterproof signs are designed for easy outdoor display—simply insert the included H-stake into the sign and place it securely in the ground.
